Tree Art

Crafted from vegetable tanned leather in the United States, Moore & Giles Tree Art is completely natural. Each shape is unique and created according to designer specifications. The leather is precision cut into straps and then hand-tapered by artists Scott Gelander and Jason Landry using a weaving process based on the ancient practice cuir bouilli. Cuir bouilli is a method that employs hot water to permanently form the leather. The leather is then bonded together, air-dried, backed with cushioning and finished with non-skid backing to creating stunning rugs that mirror the intricate details of tree rings inside of a tree trunk.

"There is no piece that is identical to another piece. Every way you twist the tree on the floor looks different."

- Jason Landry, Artist
