Our Mission, Our Values

Recently, President Sackett Wood and the leadership team of Moore & Giles sat together and began the arduous process of crafting an updated mission statement that reflects our work as we head into 2016. We wanted this to act as a compass to direct our tomorrows and at the same time a mission that would have hung above the front door of the original Jefferson Street office in 1933.

As each member of the team shared their hearts and what motivates their work it became very clear the core mission of each person was unified around the goals to: ENRICH, INSPIRE & SERVE our customers, our people and our community. These three actions are true as we sell the world’s finest leather and bags, or as we are working downtown to help our neighbors.

The gentlemanly principles that guided Donald Graeme Moore and Vernon Giles still guide us today. They have been passed down directly from them to Chairmen Don Giles and now to a new generation of leadership. In almost 83 years of business our core values remain true - KINDNESS, PERSEVERANCE, CREATIVITY, AUTHENTICITY & HUMILITY. These letters are more than words, they are how we strive to live our lives. It is our desire that they are bone-deep for every one of our almost 100 employees.
