Jim Moore
"My name is Jim Moore and I love building furniture. And I've been doing it for 61 years."
-Jim Moore
Jim Moore, owner of Hancock & Moore, has been creating hand-crafted furniture for decades. In his 61 years of crafting furniture, he prides himself most on never making the same piece twice. Moore stands firm that their furniture is composed of the very finest wood, finest leather, finest springs, even cushions - all backed by an unconditional guarantee - no matter how old the product.
'My Dad said, "You need to always to try do the very best you can do, no matter what it is,"' says Moore, who puts high standards on every piece of furniture crafted. One thing you can count on with Hancock & Moore is that they will not compromise their namesake for cheaper lumber or cheaper fabric. In fact, each piece of Hancock & Moore furniture is hand-cut, hand-sewn and hand-upholstered to greatness at their headquarters in Hickory, North Carolina - an area filled with talented individuals and saturated in the furniture industry.
Equal to his love for well-built furniture, is his love for rare and classic cars. During our most recent trip to North Carolina, Moore gave us a sneak peek inside his 1962 Ford Thunderbird covered in Moore & Giles leather in Notting Hill Metallic & Absolute Tomato [pictured below]. We asked Moore why he chose to specifically include Moore & Giles leather in his Thunderbird, to which he quickly replied, "I want the very finest (leather) in my car, just like I do on our furniture."
